Connecting and Installing the Dialup Accelerator Software
| Note: First download the file, then BEFORE installing, disconnect from the Internet. |
1a. If you have a Sierra Advantage icon on your desktop, that has a red D and black C, refer
to FIGURE 1 below. If you have a shortcut on your desktop with a telephone and monitor, refer
to step 2b below.
1b. Double click on the DC icon and in the username ADD @directcon.net to your username.
You must remove the capital "P" in front of your username in order to use this service.
2a. If you have a shortcut on your desktop with a telephone and monitor, refer to FIGURE 2 below.
If you have a Sierra Advantage icon on your desktop, that has a red D and black C, refer
to step 1b above.
2b. Double click on the shortcut icon and in the username ADD @directcon.net to your username.
You must remove the capital "P" in front of your username in order to use this service.
3. Once connected to the Internet, continue with installing the software.
4. Double-click on the megaspeed icon, and click next on the Setup: Welcome window
5. Click on Accept button on the Terms of Service window.
6. At the bottom of the page, make sure that you have at least 5 times the space required
in the disk space available area (see image below) and click next. If you do not have
the space free, please call tech support (530.672.1078) to discuss the options available to you,
so you can install the Accelerator.
7. While the software installs, you will see a progress meter increase from 0% to 100%.
8. When the next window appears, click on Start Using Propel Accelerator.
