Ingredients: |
1 pound ground beef
1 pound beef sausage
1 (8 ounce) box dirty rice mix
1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers
1 onion, finely diced
2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, drained
2 cups water
salt and pepper to taste |

Directions: |
In a skillet, brown sausage, onion, and ground beef; drain.
In a 2 quart saucepan, combine rice mix and 2 cups water. Add
diced tomatoes and chiles. Stir in the kidney beans. Bring to
a boil, then add meat mixture. Bring back to boil, reduce heat
and cover, stirring occasionally. Cook for 20 minutes. Serve |

Make it as spicy or mild as you please. It is hearty on a
cold winter's night. If you are cooking for a crowd, this recipe
can easily be doubled. Be sure to serve this with cornbread! |
