Sierra Advantage is pleased to announce the official release of our e-mail filtering service. We have partnered with CanIt-PRO to provide access to the latest tools available to prevent junk e-mail and viruses from reaching your computer. Many of you are already aware that we enabled virus protection on our e-mail server earlier this year. Not only will this system help reduce the growing amount of junk e-mail, but it also provides a second level of virus filtering to further help protect you. As part of our commitment to provide our customers with new and beneficial technologies, we are excited to be able to provide this service.
 
Note: This service can only be used to filter Sierra Advantage e-mail (user@directcon.net), or e-mail for a domain name that we host (user@domain.com).
 
The system is completely private and secure. The filtering is an automated process. Nobody besides you ever has access to your e-mail. You control the filter settings to suit your needs. We understand that any type of filtering is a sensitive area, which is why we have decided to offer this service...it keeps the control where it belongs, in your hands.

Here is a brief overview of the CanIt-PRO filtering service:

• Your e-mail passes through the automated filtering system that detects suspected junk e-mail and viruses.
   
• Suspicious e-mail is directed to your personal, private, web-based Message Center. It stops here before reaching the inbox on your computer. Think of this personal area as a type of quarantine. In your Message Center, you can read any stopped e-mail safely without risking damage to your computer, delete the messages, or if you choose forward them on to your computer for delivery.
   
• Initially, we encourage you to visit your personal Message Center often because CanIt-PRO "remembers and learns" from your interaction with the system. This helps the system to tailor itself to your specific filter settings, allowing for the best possible protection from junk e-mail and viruses. As time goes on you will be able to rely on periodic notifications of activity with your Message Center.
   
• The CanIt-PRO system lets you block specific senders, meaning e-mail from them will always be filtered, and you can also specify specific allowed senders, that are always allowed to pass through your filtering.
   
• The service is completely controlled by you.

When your e-mail filtering service is activated, you will receive specific instructions on how to use your personal Message Center and how to get the most out of your junk e-mail and virus protection.
